The National Indigenous Music Awards took place under the stars at Darwin Amphitheatre over the weekend, celebrating the many incredibly talented Indigenous artists we know and love. Check out the artists who took home the trophies and find out where you can catch them performing live across Australia in the coming months!

Baker Boy

Bringing his total NIMA trophies to nine, rapper, dancer and actor Baker Boy took home Album of the Year for his debut album Gela, and was declared Artist of the Year, further reinforcing his stature as one of the most prominent Indigenous artists on the scene. Catch Baker Boy at Caloundra Music Festival 2022 at Kings Beach Amphitheatre in September. Tickets are still available to purchase so don't miss out!

Barkaa

Malyangapa and Barkindji rapper Barkaa was awarded Film Clip of the Year for her song King Brown. Fans can catch Barkaa at Listen Out 2022 in Melbourne, Perth, Sydney and Brisbane! 

Jem Cassar-Daley

Gumbaynggirr and Bundjalung artist and daughter of Troy Cassar-Daley, Jem Cassar-Daley secured the Best New Talent award for her debut indie-pop album I Don't Know Who To Call, released in 2021. Catch Jem Cassar-Daley when she joins Thelma Plum's Meanjin Tour in Canberra, Sydney and on the Sunshine Coast. Tickets are on sale now! 

King Stingray 

Claiming the prestigious Song of the Year slot, Yolngu rock band King Stingray took home the award for their bush-disco banger Milkumana, which landed #56 in triple j's Hottest 100 last year.

Keen to catch them live? You'll have plenty of opportunities as King Stingray are set to perform at Falls in Birregurra VIC, Byron Bay NSW, Fremantle WA, as well as Heaps Good in Adelaide.

Fans can also catch King Stingray alongside Midnight Oil in Canberra, or on their Album Tour in Brisbane and Perth (tickets go on sale at 10am AEST Thursday 11 August).
